Ali and I were in NYC for a buying trip earlier in the month. (BTW, we are so excited about the materials we found for you this Fall/Winter!)  As usual we came back inspired and energized by the City’s endless TILT. Here’s a recap of FIVE Favorites (actually a few extras) from our time in the Big Apple:

1. New Shirts

Comme Des Garcons at the Dover Street Market. My daughter’s class at F.I.T. took a fashion merchandising field trip to this somewhat “best kept secret” (according to her teacher). I had to check it out! The market is eight stories of high-end fashion (a virtual checklist of luxe brands and cult designer collections).  The artistry of the space itself makes it well worth checking out.

AllSaints Tygers Imogen Tank.  Ali scored a great sale find in one of her favorite stores. Love this animal print that tilts the norm.

2. Glossier Balm Dotcom Trio. Ali brought her teenage daughter on the trip, who couldn’t leave without a stop to Glossier! They bought several things, but among them was this “tube for every mood” skin salve.

3. Alo Yoga – Studio to Street Wear.

Ali loves their leggings which are heavier than others, and I fell for this super soft, slashed finish tank (breathable and stylish).

4. Restaurants

Kazu Nori | The Original Hand Roll Bar. A variation of sushi totally new to me. Each just-made hand roll, with its crispy nori, warm rice, and delectable ingredients, will redefine what you think about sushi. A truly affordable NYC meal experience.

Mercer Kitchen SOHO. A favorite place for lunch when in the Soho area. Jean-Georges Vongerichten has the magic touch. Tried and true, and housed in the lovely Mercer hotel.

5. Graffiti Belt. Shameless plug, but we can’t get enough of this positive affirmation belt. I wore it all week in the City and people constantly stopped me to ask about it. It’s so versatile with its ability to be multiple sizes (wear on hips or at waist), and reverses to a solid color. The perfect travel companion.

What are your NYC favorites? Let us know so we can test it out next time we are in the city.
