We're packing our bags and headed to New York for Indigo Tilt Trunk Shows this weekend. Here are some of our favorite, functional yet stylish travel picks. Read more below...
When it comes to travel I’m a big believer in packing intentionally and investing in quality pieces to last a lifetime. My husband and I purchased a set of Briggs and Riley luggage over 16 years ago and it still looks amazing with hardly any wear and tear. Briggs and Riley is known in the industry for their lifetime warranty, outside handle (provides greater interior capacity and flat interior surface for packing), and zipperless expansion system that allows up to an extra 2.5″ of customizable capacity.
Hartmann is another known leader in the luggage world and has some functional yet more stylish pieces. The Hartmann herringbone luggage is a timeless classic and very handsome. I’ve also always admired the modern and sleek hard cases I see in the airports. You can really get creative with designs on those!
I am a big fan of the Longchamp Le Pliage foldaway bags. They are light as a feather yet durable enough to hold all your carry-on essentials. The one above has a shoulder strap and zippers to varying sizes, allowing you more space on your return trip for purchased goodies.
My other must-haves for traveling are bag identifiers (my grandmother used to hand-make amazing pom pom tassels), and a lightweight scarf for the fluctuating temperature in the airport and plane. I love this neutral yet fun Burberry print that would work well in any season.
